15 days a year, paid biweekly
15 days × 8 hours = 120 hours a year. Spread over 26 paychecks, that’s 4.62 hours per paycheck, or 10 hours a month. With 24 hours already banked, six more paychecks bring the balance to 51.69 hours, enough for a six-day trip.
1 hour for every 30 hours worked
This is a common sick-leave rule. At 40 hours a week you earn 1.33 hours a week, which is 69.33 hours a year (about 8.7 days) or 2.67 hours per biweekly paycheck.
Planning time off
Open Project my balance to see what you’ll have on a future date. Enter your balance now and any time off you’ve already booked before then. If your employer caps the balance, enter the cap: accrual stops there, and the calculator shows the payday you’ll reach it. To work backwards, enter a target in When will I have, such as 40 hours for a week off, and you’ll see the first payday you’ll have it.
Paydays are counted from today: every 7 or 14 days for weekly and biweekly pay, the 15th and last day of the month for semimonthly, and the last day for monthly. Waiting periods and carryover rules vary by employer, so check your handbook.
